Landslide
Preventive Works for slope along Clear Water Bay Road
The
project involved a number of slope stabilisation works along Clear Water
Bay Road.
Environmental Concern
The
site was immediately next to Clear Water Bay Road. Since the project involved
the drilling of a large number of holes on the slope, the potential dust
nuisance was the major concern.

Measures
Adopted
Dust
Cover and Watering - A mobile drilling machine was being used to drill
holes on the slope. To prevent dust emission during the drilling operation,
the top of the machine was totally enclosed and water spray was applied
to prevent dust from escaping out of the working area.
The
drill was covered up and provided with water spray inside while drilling
on the slope took place.
Observations
& Achievements
The
arrangement of enclosing the working part of the drilling machine together
with the provision of water spray to control dust generation was found
to be very effective.
