Environmental Concern

The site was surrounded by domestic and commercial premises. In the absence of any dust emission control measures, e.g. mixing dry cement powder without enclosure, the slope stabilisation works, would cause serious dust disturbance to the pedestrians as well as the nearby domestic and commercial premises.

Measures Adopted

Administration - Pre-blended concrete mix plus pre-dampening control was used.

Dust Cover - Barriers were erected between work sites and sensitive receptors.

Watering - Correct pressure and water setting were applied in the event of shotcreting works.

Observations & Achievements

Since the implementation of the dust abatement measures, the dust nuisance to the pedestrian was stopped.
