OUR NEW AND IMPROVED SERVICES

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has been adopting a customer-oriented approach in providing best quality services to the public and the business community. Our new and improved services for 2006 include the following:

  • Opened the Compliance Assistance Centre in September 2006 to provide operators with advice and information on environmental compliance.
  • Enhanced the web-based Strategic Environmental Assessment Knowledge Centre in 2006 with information on SEAs from 24 countries and five international organisations.


The EPD sets up a Compliance Assistance Centre at 28/F Southorn Centre, Wan Chai to provide a one-stop source of information to business and trade operators.

The SEA Knowledge Centre is an interactive web site.

 

  • Extended the Programme on Source Separation of Domestic Waste to 497 estates and buildings housing 29 per cent of the population.
  • Reserved $10 million in late 2006 in the Environment and Conservation Fund for promoting waste recycling and other initiatives to reduce and manage waste loads.
