related to Construction Works
Under
the Air
Pollution Control (Construction Dust) Regulation, the
contractor responsible for a construction site where notifiable
work is proposed to be carried out has to give notice to EPD
before the commencement of the work.
Moreover,
the contractor also needs to give notice to EPD of any proposed
change relating to the particulars given in the previous notice(s)
before the proposed change takes effect.
Under
the regulation, the notifiable work means :
(a) site
formation;
(b) reclamation;
(c) demolition
of a building;
(d) work
carried out in any part of a tunnel that is within 100 m of
any exit to the open air;
(e) construction
of the foundation of a building;
(f) construction
of the superstructure of a building; or
(g) road
construction work.
How
to submit notification of construction works :
i. Submission
of notification is free of charge.
For giving notice to EPD of the proposal to carry out the
notifiable work, the notification must be made before the
proposed work is to be commenced. For giving notice to EPD
of the proposed change to the particulars given in the previous
notice(s), the notification must be made before the change
takes effect.
ii. The
notification shall be submitted in the specified forms. The
forms are obtainable from any of the Customer Service Counters of EPD.
