Temporary Golf Driving Range at the Restored Shuen Wan Landfill

First Recreational Facility on Restored Landfill

After reducing the potential safety and health risks of the closed landfills imposed on surrounding areas by restoration, the restored closed landfills could be turned into beneficial use for the public. The temporary Golf Driving Range on the Restored Shuen Wan Landfill at Ting Kok Road, Tai Po is the first landfill afteruse for the public.

The temporary Driving Range

Closed in 1995 and restored in 1997, Shuen Wan Landfill had been landscaped and converted into a temporary golf driving range for the use by the general public from April 1999 to July 2022.

Facilities

The Driving Range comprised the following facilities:

* 145 driving bays;
* Par 3 hole;
* Sand bunkers;
* Practice green area;
* car parking spaces; and
* changing rooms.
