Water Pollution Control

Water quality is one of the most vital aspects of our environment. Effective control of water pollution has been a long process which began with the introduction of the Water Pollution Control Ordinance. The Ordinance has undergone a series of amendments, but its underlying goals have not been changed. The EPD is required to achieve and maintain water quality objectives in order to promote conservation and the best uses of Hong Kong's water in the public interest.
