Fanling Environmental Resource Centre Bookmark Design Contest and Drawing Contest

A) Bookmark Design Contest

Participants are required to design a set of 8 bookmarks with different themes as follow:

  • Air
  • Noise
  • Waste
  • Water
  • Environmental Planning and Assessment
  • Community Education and Promotion
  • Enforcement
  • Global Environmental Issues (For example: Green House Effect, Ozone Depletion, Save our Rain Forest, Lost of Species, Acid Rain, etc.)

The design of bookmarks should be single-sided and each bookmark should not more than 5cm x 15cm in size. The 8 bookmarks submitted should be stuck on a piece of 29.7cm x 42cm (A3) paper.

B) Drawing Contest

The theme of the Drawing Contest is "My Ideal Environmental Resource Centre". The drawing should be drawn on a piece of 29.7cm x 42cm (A3) paper. Participants can visit Wan Chai Environmental Resource Centre at 221 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, H.K. and Tsuen Wan Environmental Resource Centre at Tak Wah Park, Tak Wah Street, Tsuen Wan, N.T. for information if necessary.

Groups:

Public group - All members of the public Secondary group - Day-time secondary school students Primary group - Day-time primary school students

Awards:

A champion, a first runner-up, a second runner-up and merit awards for each group. Awards for the best participating secondary school and primary school.

Submission of Entries:

Personal information which includes name, age, address, telephone number, name of the school (for student participant), contest item and group should be written on the back of each submitted entry. Participants can submit their entries by post or by hand during office hours to: Community Relations Unit, Environmental Protection Department, 2/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, H.K. Please indicate "Bookmark Design Contest and Drawing Contest" on envelope if sent by post.

Deadline:

26 July 2003 (Saturday)

Announcement and Presentation of Awards:

August 2003 (All winners will be informed individually. Details will be announced later)

Rules:

  1. Each participant is welcome to submit entries for both contests but only one entry is allowed for each contest.
  2. 2. All submitted entries will not be returned.
  3. Entries should be original and no name of any kind should be shown on the entries.
  4. Environmental Protection Department and Environmental Campaign Committee have the right to publish, exhibit and publicize the awarded entries in any media.
  5. The judging panel members chosen by the organizers have the final decision on the results of the contests.
