Briefing Session for Programme on Source Separation of Waste

A briefing session on "How to set up and implement Source Separation of Waste at housing estates/buildings" was held on 14th December 2004 by Environmental Protection Department, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Ltd. The seminar's objectives were to introduce the "Programme on Source Separation of Waste" to property management companies and residents. The briefing session introduced various types of recyclables which can be recovered, modes of source separation of recyclables, collection arrangement and competition. Representatives from property management companies also shared their experiences on "Source Separation of Waste" during the briefing session.

Mr. Alkin KWONG, Vice President of the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Limited, opened the briefing session on "Source Separation of Waste".

Dr Lawrence WONG, Principal Environmental Protection Officer of the Facilities Planning Group of the Environmental Protection Department, presented the certificate of appreciation to Mr. Alkin KWONG.

Ms. Mabel MAK, Head of the Community Relations Unit of the Environmental Protection Department, presented certificates of appreciation to Mr. Dicky NGAN, Area Manager of the Hong Yip Service Company Limited and Mr. Tommy LEE, Estate Manager of the Lei King Wan (Management) Limited, speakers of the sharing session.

Dr Lawrence WONG, Principal Environmental Protection Officer of the Facilities Planning Group of the Environmental Protection Department, delivered the talks on "Source separation of waste in housing estates/buildings".

Mr. Dicky NGAN, Area Manager of the Hong Yip Service Company Limited, gave his experience sharing on model case of the Source Separation of Waste at LeSommet.

Mr. Tommy LEE, Estate Manager of the Lei King Wan (Management) Limited, gave his experience sharing on model case of the Source Separation of Waste at Lei King Wan.
