No decision on EcoPark operator made

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department today (May 30) refuted a claim that the department had already in mind an oversea company for assigning the task of operating and managing the EcoPark.

"We regret such a claim, which is totally groundless. EcoPark will fully comply with the well-established open tender system and its procedures," the spokesman said.

The spokesman stressed that the tendering exercise would be carried out in an open, fair and equitable manner next year.

The Government is still working on the details and has undertaken to revert to the Environmental Affairs Panel of the Legislative Council after the summer.
