ACE to hold open forum on municipal solid waste management
The following is issued on behalf of the Advisory Council on the Environment:
The Advisory Council on the Environment (ACE) will hold an open forum on January 21 (Saturday) to discuss and exchange views with stakeholders, concerned groups, academics, green groups and members of the public on the key policy initiatives under the Policy Framework for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).
The Policy Framework issued by the Government last month sets out a comprehensive strategy for MSW management in Hong Kong for the 10 years between 2005 and 2014.
The forum will comprise modules on waste reduction at source; waste recovery and recycling; waste treatment and disposal; and overall waste management strategy.
The forum will be held at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Museum of History, 100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui from 10 am to 1 pm. Registration will start at 9.30 am.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the open forum upon prior registration. Those interested are requested to call the ACE Secretariat for reservation at 2594 6326 before January 17 during office hours.
