Tenders invited for tenancy of recycling of waste metals in EcoPark

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) is inviting contractors with relevant experience and expertise to submit a tender for tenancy of recycling of waste metals in EcoPark Phase I in Tuen Mun Area 38.

Aimed at promoting the local recycling and environmental industry, a spokesman for EPD said today (October 3) the successful tenderer would be required to carry out recycling activity of waste metals within the EcoPark.

"Four of the six lots in Phase I have been allocated for recycling of waste wood, used cooking oil, computer equipment and waste plastics and we are in close liaison with these tenants in setting up their operations at the EcoPark," the spokesman said.

The EcoPark is set up to provide the recycling and environmental industry with long-term and well-equipped land at affordable rent to encourage the industry to put more investment into advanced and value-added recycling processes.

Tender document and further information are available at the Waste Reduction and EcoPark Group of the department during office hours, at Room 217, 2nd Floor, East Wing, 88 Victoria Road, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong. Location map of the office and background information of the EcoPark, can be obtained at its designated www.epd.gov.hk/epd/ecopark.
