行政長官出席2008博鰲亞洲論壇午餐會
CE at the luncheon for Boao Forum Asia Annual Conference 2008
行政長官曾蔭權於四月十二日在博鰲亞洲論壇2008年年會舉行的午餐會上致辭時表示，環境保護不再是從外國輸入或強加於亞洲國家和城市的議題。不論是香港這樣的城市，還是珠江三角洲這類更大的經濟群體，環境保護是保持繁榮興旺的成功要素。
The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, speaking at the luncheon for Boao Forum Asia Annual Conference 2008 on April 12, said that the green agenda is no longer something that is imported or foisted upon Asian countries or cities. It is an essential element in the ongoing success of cities such as Hong Kong, and of greater economic groupings such as the Pearl River Delta. |

能源效益(產品標籤)條例草案
Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Bill
《能源效益(產品標籤)條例草案》已於二○○八年四月三十日獲立法會通過。條例旨在推行強制性能源效益標籤計劃(強制性計劃)，規定指明產品須貼上能源標籤，為消費者提供產品的能源效益資料，藉此鼓勵市民選購具能源效益的產品，節省能源。條例會於二○○八年五月九日起實施，並設有十八個月的寬限期，讓業界就強制性計劃作準備。政府於二○○八年五月三日就強制性計劃舉行啟動禮，向公眾宣傳有關計劃。
Energy Efficiency (Labelling of Products) Bill was passed by the Legislative Council on April 30, 2008. The Ordinance aims at implementing a mandatory Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme (the scheme), which requires the display of energy labels on specified products. The scheme aims at encouraging the purchase of energy-efficient products and energy saving by informing consumers of information relating to the energy performance of the products. The Ordinance will come into force on May 9, 2008, with an 18-month transitional period for the trades to prepare for the implementation of the mandatory scheme. The Government held a launching ceremony on May 3, 2008 to promote the mandatory scheme to the general public. |

環境局局長訪京
Visit of Secretary for the Environment to Beijing
環境局局長邱騰華於四月九日到北京進行三天工作訪問。在訪京期間，邱騰華分別與國家環保官員會面，邱騰華亦陪同政務司司長唐英年拜會國務院港澳事務辦公室。
The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, began his three-day duty visit to Beijing on April 9. During his visit, Mr Yau met with Environmental Protection officials and he also joined the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, to meet officials of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. |

「清潔生產伙伴計劃」正式啟動
Cleaner Production Partnership Programme launched
由環保署與廣東省經濟及貿易委員會、香港生產力促進局及工商業界共同籌備的「清潔生產伙伴計劃」於四月十八日正式啟動。這個為期五年的計劃將資助珠三角的港資工廠進行實地評估、開展示範項目及核證改善項目的成效。計劃亦將進行廣泛的認知推廣活動。有興趣參加「清潔生產伙伴計劃」的企業可於以下網頁下載申請表格：http://www.cleanerproduction.hk/ch/main.asp。
The Cleaner Production Partnership Programme, jointly organised by the EPD, Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission, Hong Kong Productivity Council and business and industrial sectors, was officially launched on April 18, 2008. This five-year programme will provide funding support to Hong Kong-owned factories in the Pearl River Delta region to carry out on-site assessment at production processes, demonstration projects and verification of the effectiveness of improvement projects. The programme will also organise a wide range of awareness promotion activities. 環境局局長邱騰華於四月七日在立法會財務委員會特別會議上致辭，簡要介紹環境局在環境保護、自然護理、能源及可持續發展幾方面的工作。
The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, delivered a speech at a special meeting of the Finance Committee on April 7. He briefly introduced the Bureau's works on environmental protection, conservation, energy and sustainable development. |
