環境局網站公布車用燃油產品價格
Retail and import prices of auto-fuel uploaded to ENB website
為了提高車用燃油產品價格的透明度，環境局由十月二十二日開始每星期在其網站內，公布本地車用燃油進口價和零售價的走勢對比新加坡無鉛汽油和車用柴油離岸價的走勢。公布這些數據旨在更清楚告知公眾車用燃油價格的巿場走勢。
To improve the transparency of prices of auto-fuel products, Environment Bureau has, since 22 October 2008, posted onto its website on a weekly basis, the movements in local import prices and retail prices of auto-fuel in comparison with movements in Singapore free-on-board (FOB) prices for unleaded petrol and motor vehicle diesel. The objective of publishing the data is to better inform the public of the market trend of auto-fuel prices. |

粵港空氣監控網絡獲國家環境保護部科學技術獎
The PRD Regional Air Quality Monitoring Network won the Ministry of Environmental Protection's Science and Technology Award
由廣東省環境保護局、廣東省環境監測中心和香港環保署聯合建構的「粵港珠江三角洲區域空氣監控網絡」 (監控網絡) 榮獲2008年度環境保護科學技術獎第二等獎。有關獎項目的是獎勵在環境保護科學技術活動中有突出貢獻的單位。
The Pearl River Delta (PRD) Regional Air Quality Monitoring Network (the Network) jointly established by the Guangdong Environmental Protection Bureau, Guangdong Provincial Environmental Monitoring Centre (GDEMC) and the EPD has obtained the 2008 Environmental Protection Science and Technology Class 2 Award from the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The award aims to recognise organisations which have made outstanding achievement and contributions to the advancement of environmental protection science and technology. |

深港清潔生產工作合作協議
Agreement on co-operation on cleaner production between Hong Kong and Shenzhen
香港特區環保署與深圳市環境保護局於十月三十日舉行第六次會議，回顧了在二○○八年的合作進展，及擬訂了來年的合作重點。雙方並於十一月十三日簽訂深港清潔生產工作合作協議，加強推動深港兩地企業進行清潔生產，開展節能減排的工作。兩地將共同舉辦認知推廣活動，經驗分享及示範項目；並會研究推行更多獎勵措施。雙方將制訂具體實施方案，並會成立工作小組，推展工作。
The EPD held the sixth meeting with delegation of the Shenzhen Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau on 30 October to review the progress of co-operation in 2008 and agree the key co-operation initiatives for the coming year. Both sides also signed an agreement on co-operation on cleaner production on 13 November with a view to enhancing cooperation efforts in promoting cleaner production at Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Enterprises will be encouraged to adopt energy efficiency and emission reduction measures and technologies. The two sides will jointly organize awareness promotion activities, experience sharing and demonstration projects, and will consider introducing further incentive measures. Implementation plans will be drawn up and a working group will be established to take forward the work. |

燃料限制修訂規例減二氧化硫污染物
Amended Fuel Restriction Regulation to cut sulphur dioxide emissions
《空氣污染管制（燃料限制）（修訂）規例》於二零零八年十月一日起實施。所有工商業工序只可使用含硫量（以重量計）不超過0.005%的超低硫柴油。詳情請參閱規例指南。
The Air Pollution Control (Fuel Restriction) (Amendment) Regulation became effective on 1 October 2008. Diesel fuel users in industrial and commercial sectors will then have to switch to using ultra low sulphur diesel (ULSD) with a sulphur content of not more than 0.005% by weight.
